Create Your Own
Working directly with spirits, you can create an object that gives physical form to something received or experienced through that relationship.
There are different ways of approaching this work. Some begin with something received through journeying; others involve creating while remaining in connection with a helping spirit. The workshops currently explore two approaches.
Patterns with Intent
Across shamanic traditions, spiritual qualities and intentions can be expressed through patterns and symbols, song and voice, and physical objects.
Through journeying and working with spirits, you receive a pattern for a particular quality or purpose — perhaps courage, protection, strength, balance or support. We also explore the voice as a way of carrying and transmitting spiritual intention.
We draw inspiration from traditions such as the Shipibo-Conibo, where pattern and song are closely connected, while the patterns created arise through each participant's own work with spirits.
You then bring your pattern into physical form in silver, or silver and enamel, where colour can become another element of its expression — creating something you can continue to work with beyond the workshop.
Deepening Connection
A power object can also be created to strengthen your relationship with a helping spirit.
In this approach, you enter a light trance and create the piece together with the spirit you wish to strengthen your connection with. Rather than arriving with a finished design, you allow the object to take shape through this interaction — guided by the spirit as you work.
Using silver clay, you bring this co-created form into physical reality, creating an object that can be worn, carried or used as part of your continuing relationship with that spirit.
