Creating with a helping spirit through trance and making.
Our relationships with helping spirits can develop and deepen over time. Deepening Connection explores one way of giving that relationship physical form: creating a power object together with a spirit while remaining in connection with them through trance.
Rather than arriving with a finished design or deciding in advance what the object should look like, the making itself becomes part of the interaction.
Entering the Work Together
You begin by choosing a helping spirit with whom you already have a relationship and would like to work more deeply.
Through journeying and trance, you reconnect with that spirit and explore the intention for the work. You then begin creating while remaining in connection, allowing the spirit to guide aspects of the piece as it develops.
This might influence its shape, surface, markings or texture, or the way in which you work with the material. What emerges is individual to you, the spirit and the relationship between you.
Creating in Trance
At the heart of the workshop is the experience of creating together with your helping spirit.
Working in a light trance state, you move between listening, sensing and making rather than following a predetermined design. There is space to pause, reconnect, ask for guidance and allow the piece to develop through the process.
The emphasis is not on producing a technically perfect object, but on allowing the act of making itself to become part of your relationship and communication with the spirit.
Bringing the Connection into Form
Using silver clay, you gradually bring the object into physical form.
I guide you through the silver-working techniques you need, including shaping, adding texture or markings, and finishing your piece. No previous jewellery-making experience is required.
Your finished power object might be worn as a pendant, carried with you, kept in a particular place or incorporated into your ongoing spiritual practice. Its meaning comes not simply from what it represents, but from the process through which you and your helping spirit created it together.
Small Group Workshops
These workshops are intentionally kept small. This allows time for individual guidance with both the shamanic and creative aspects of the work, while creating the space for deeper journeying and trance work.
Working in a small group also means I can support each participant individually as their pattern develops and as they translate what they have received into silver.
