Receiving pattern, voice & form through working with spirits
Across shamanic traditions, spiritual qualities and intentions can be expressed in many ways — through pattern and symbol, song and voice, and through objects that carry meaning or purpose.
Receiving a Pattern
During the workshop, you journey to your helping spirits with a particular quality or purpose you would like to explore — perhaps courage, protection, strength, balance or support.
Rather than designing a symbol intellectually, you ask the spirits you work with to show you a pattern connected with that intention. What emerges is individual to you and to the work you are doing.
We draw inspiration from traditions such as the Shipibo-Conibo, where pattern and song are closely connected, while the patterns created during the workshop arise through each participant's own relationship and work with spirits.
Pattern & Voice
We also explore the voice as another way of carrying and expressing spiritual intention.
Working with what you have received through journeying, you explore how sound or song might relate to your pattern and the quality it represents. This is not about musical ability or performance, but about allowing voice to become another part of the work.
Bringing the Pattern into Form
You then translate your pattern into silver. I guide you through the techniques you need to create your piece using silver clay, including shaping, engraving and finishing. No previous jewellery-making experience is required.
Depending on the workshop format, there may also be the opportunity to introduce colour through enamel, allowing colour to become another element of the pattern and its expression.
The finished piece becomes something you can wear, carry or continue to work with — a physical expression of something received through your own relationship with spirits.
Small Group Workshops
These workshops are intentionally kept small. This allows time for individual guidance with both the shamanic and creative aspects of the work, while creating the space for deeper journeying and trance work.
Working in a small group also means I can support each participant individually as their pattern develops and as they translate what they have received into silver.
